Our Mission: Develop Workforce of the Future with Digital Skills

The Key Risk for Digital Exports

Pakistan’s export strategy (2023 – 2027) identifies the shortage of digital & emerging technologies skills in the country as a key risk to national economic growth.

The report highlights that the country needs an annual supply of 100,000 young adults with digital & emerging technologies skills while the higher education sector is currently only producing 20,000 IT graduates.

A key transformation area identified for the sector’s sustainable growth is enhancing women’s participation.

Inspire

We plan to work with the higher education sector to jointly offer professional certifications in digital & emerging technologies as an alternative, shorter pathway towards employment and financial independence.

Through these professional certifications, we plan to inspire the young adults completing their higher secondary education to consider a career in the jobs-of-tomorrow and cause a notable increase in the annual supply of professionals with in-demand digital skills.

Augment

Our ambition is to inspire university students in non-IT subjects to imagine the bright career possibilities in the jobs-of-tomorrow and acquire in-demand digital and emerging technologies skills during the final two years of their university degree.

We plan to work with the higher education sector to offer specialisations in key digital & emerging technologies skills that can be taken as electives by university students to enhance their employability outcomes.

For university graduates looking for a pathway towards a career in the jobs-of-the-future, we plan to augment their skills portfolio through specialised bootcamps.

For young adults working towards their professional accounting qualification, we plan to develop their digital skills to make them future-fit accountants.

Upskill

Both the nature of work performed by professional accountants and the nature of their contributions to the organizations for which they work are rapidly evolving in response to the technology-driven transformation in business. We plan to fill the resulting skill gap among qualified accounting professionals through CPD and short courses focused on digital issues.

Through our short courses and specialisation programmes, we aspire to deepen the digital & emerging technologies skills of the young adults working in the country’s software & services sector to enable them to develop professionally and enhance their firm’s revenue.

Through digital upskilling of mid-tier managerial staff in the corporate sector, financial services firms and public sector entities, we aspire to enhance the national capacity to support the country’s digital transformation.

Focus on Women Participation

Focus on Women Participation

Pakistan’s low female labour force participation rate implies that the country is not taking advantage of its labour-rich demographic structure or all its talent.

We plan to launch initiatives to not only spread awareness of entry points and career opportunities for women, but to also showcase female role models in digital arena.

Digital talent development programmes focused on the female population will be launched in key urban areas of the country.
